In classic style or in free style, for young people or not, the Pustertaler Ski-Marathon offers for all the possibility of choice. Saturday, 10th January 2009 the race in classic style starts from Dobbiaco to Braies on 28 km. The race in free style takes place on Sunday, 11th January 2009 with start in Dobbiaco and end in Sesto (42 km).

Imposing in the clear winter air, bizarr in the evening illumination, thats how the sculptures will change the atmosphere of the village next january. The imaginative creations, the sculptures, forms and bodies of snow will dominate in the village on behalf of the Snow Sculpture Festival in San Candido. The rules are very simple and very attractive for the spectators: fresh snow from the surroundings will be pressed together in 3x3x3m blocks which will be located in different areas. On this blocks the 10 teams can play with the wealth of their ideas. The result of the work should be an imaginative sculpture. Apart from the tools the sculptors can use only water – water which will be soon ice regarding the freezing winter temperatures of the area.
International Snow Festival

This cross-country ski race from Dobbiaco to Cortina is open to everybody and takes place each year on the 1st Sunday in February. It is in its 32nd year in 2009 and 1,500 participants are expected, hundreds of amateur and professional skiers. Saturday, 31st January 2009 the race in classic style starts in Toblach and ends, after 30 km in Fiames. The race in free style will be on Sunday, 1st February 2009. The route follows the disused railway line which was taken out of service in 1962. The route begins at Dobbiaco and follows the trail into the Landro valley, through illuminated tunnels, across wooden bridges, past impressive gorges and finishes in the center of Cortina d‘Ampezzo.

For all running friends! On the 31st May 2009 starts the famous run in Cortina d’Ampezzo and, after 30 km, ends in Dobbiaco. The tracing is based on the old railway, passing Gemärk, Carbonin, the Lake of Landro and the Lake of Dobbiaco, finishing at the Grand Hotel at Dobbiaco. There will be offered also a briefer run of 11,5 km from the Lake of Landro to Dobbiaco.

The Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival is a non competitive musical event which takes places in Alta Pusteria. It takes place once a year and its programme is usually scheduled in five days - from Wednesday to Sunday - during the last week of June. For the extraordinary variety of the venues and the wide performed repertoire it is one of the most spectacular European choral music events. It is organized by "Associazione Flaminia 2000" of Rome in cooperation with the tourist boards of Alta Pusteria and Plan de Corones.

The 14th edition of the traditional Suedtirol Dolomiti Superbike MTB marathon will take place on July 12th 2008 in Villabassa. 2009, the organizing committee expects once again a new record of participants.

A part of the tradition of Gustav Mahler and his work, a place where Mahler’s music, science, and discography get together.

On Sunday, 13th September 2009, takes place at Sesto the 12th edition of the Suedtirol Three peaks run. It`s one of the hardest and most famous Alpine Runs in Europe.
