Villabassa is a small village in the heart of Alta Pusteria, surrounded by the Dolomites and forests. There is a healthy climate, which is especially suitable for health treatments.
Villabassa in Alta Pusteria lies protected amidst the Dolomites. Thanks to its advantageous height (1,154 m) and the many days of sun during the year, it offers the best prerequisites for a healthy and recreational winter or summer holiday. The alpine cure village has had a long tradition of tourism. Villabassa was the first touristic village in the Puster Valley – and some celebrities have spent their holidays here already.

The Town Hall
The Town Hall is located south of Piazza von Kurz square. Originally, the building served as a residence for the Lords of Kurz zum Thurn. In 1800, the Kurz family reconstructed the building and gave it today's shape. Remarkable is the balcony with three Ionic pillars and triangular gables at the northern façade. At the time of organised transport of goods by wagon until the railway was built, the building served as a toll office (customs office); later on it was used as military barracks up to World War I. Since 1928 this has been the Town Hall of the village of Villabassa.
House Wassermann
This building was the residence of the von Kurz family from 1470 to the 18th century. The building has been extended several times. The Kurz family were custom officers, and one of the most influential families in Alta Pusteria. In 1895 the residence was acquired by the pastry cook Johann Wassermann, who changed the building into a café. The charming character mix between noble residence and mundane use as a cafè provided the building with a special personality. Since 1994, House Wassermann has contained the Alta Pusteria Tourism Museum.
