Located at 2,000 metres above sea level, visitors find true serenity and pure nature in the area of Prato Piazza. Thanks to its integration into the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, the beautiful Prato Piazza area surrounded by imposing peaks, has been able to maintain its naturalness and originality. Far from car traffic and any noise, the alpine plateau fascinates with a splendid view of the surrounding mountains like Picco di Vallandro and Croda Rossa, and in the distance you can admire the Monte Cristallo and Tofane Mountains. Hobby photographers find the best of motives in summer and winter.
You can sit down, take a deep breath, and enjoy the variety of nature, or actively discover the surrounding nature. Walking, Nordic walking, hiking, climbing or on a horse-drawn sleigh in winter, with touring skis, snow-shoes or crampons on the frozen waterfall - Prato Piazza offers something for everyone.
Cross-country skiers know about the advantages of this area, and some national teams have prepared themselves for Olympic Gold on this track. Since the cross-country track leads through a gentle terrain. It is therefore ideal for stamina training and for learning this sport at the same time.
The seasons come and go, sometimes the fields are green, then brightly coloured, then brown, and white at last. It seems that nothing can penetrate this idyll, but time does not stand still here either, as we notice when looking at the legends of the Croda Rossa Mountain, the first shepherds in their simple houses, and the big wars of our world.
